The Lotus ensemble, coming in two colours, is inspired by the technique and motifs of the Egyptian tentmakers’ craft -Khayameya. Khayameya craftsmen realized that a lot of unused fabric goes to waste and so they decided to use the fabric pieces to embellish the insides of the tents. We combined the concept of modular design, of using small building blocks, together with drawing inspiration from Khayameya craftsmen and their designs to create the ensemble. The pieces are designed to be worn together or separately, thereby extending their function.
